Food Pantries

Loaves and Fishes. They accept nutritious food donations to pass on to 1) their own food pantries which give out one week supply at a time (see web site for location andschedule), and 2) other charitable pantries. Call only taken from medical professionals, social service agencies, and schools at 704-523-4333 Mon-Fri 9am-4pm. http://www.loavesandfishes.org 

Matthews HELP Center. For residents of the greater Matthews area, they provide closely linked programs assisting Matthews residents including a food pantry, thrift boutique open to the public, medical equipment loan, limited emergency crisis financial assistance for basic needs, school supplies, limited free shopping in the thrift store, and winter holiday gift assistance.  Check web links for details. Call with additional questions or to request services at 704-847-8383 Mon-Fri 9am-4pm.  

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (pantry finder). They supply hundreds of charitable food pantries for needy families (including pets) using donated food and groceries. Solomon House (Novant Health). An outreach program for residents of Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson amd Mooresvile providing health education and crisis rererral for low income, uninsured individuals. Services including referral to free clinics for primary care and other organizations such as food pantries.
